When an employee ends or adds a new employment to their registration we send an email to countersignatories who have asked to receive these notifications. For larger organisations this can result in lots of emails.

Our recent consultation on expanding the Register showed strong support for including the proposed new groups. The SSSC Council approved the proposal in May and we’re waiting for Scottish Ministers approval of the recommendations before going ahead.

From 3 May, we’ll start asking a sample of registrants who are due to submit their annual declaration to also provide additional information about how they have completed CPL and demonstrated learning against the core learning elements.

In June 2024 we changed CPL for registrants to focus on key skills and knowledge required depending on your role and the stage of your career, for example induction or changing jobs. Registrants need to cover core learning elements to meet the CPL requirements.

We opened the public consultation about increasing registration fees on 30 September 2024. The consultation lasted 12 weeks and closed on 23 December 2024.
