We’re celebrating Social Work Week from 17-21 March to recognise the important contribution social workers make to supporting our communities.

The SSSC and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) have been working together with partners since April 2024 to deliver an online Career Opportunities Tool that will encourage more workers to join and to stay in the social care sector.

The social service workforce makes up 7.8% of all Scottish employment. It is a hugely diverse sector with varied and flexible roles meaning there are career options suited for everyone.
