Your learning SSSC registration

Continuous professional learning (CPL) requirements

In June 2024 we changed CPL for registrants to focus on key skills and knowledge required depending on your role and the stage of your career, for example induction or changing jobs. Registrants need to cover core learning elements to meet the CPL requirements.

We’ve moved away from recording hours and days to focus on key skills and knowledge required at important career stages, such as induction, change of role and return to practice.

The CPL requirements include core learning elements suitable for you based on your work and career.

Read about the core learning elements on the CPL website.

Have you completed your CPL?

From 3 May, we will start asking a sample of registrants who are due to submit their annual declaration to also provide additional information about how you’ve completed your CPL and demonstrated your learning against the core learning elements.

If you are selected, once you provide your CPL details, you’ll be asked to submit this information to your employer for verification before continuing to complete your annual declaration.

What if you’ve not completed your CPL?

If you’ve not completed parts of your CPL requirements, please tell us. Tick ‘no’, providing the reason and move to the next question.

Make sure you continue to complete your annual declaration in full and submit it to us.
