2025 Mental Health Officers Report published

There was a continuing shortfall in mental health officer (MHO) provision in 2025, despite an increase of 23 posts since 2024, which is the highest since records began in 2005, says a new report published by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) today.

SSSC Council Member appointed

The Minister for Children, Young People and The Promise Siobhan Brown has announced the appointment of Andrew Fleming as a Member of the Scottish Social Services Council. The appointment will be for three years and will run from 3 August 2026 to 2 August 2029.
