We recently held online events to support employers to understand how people should meet the new continuous professional learning (CPL) and return to practice (RTP) registration requirements which came into effect in June 2024. 

We’re consulting on a proposal to add new groups of workers from the social service workforce to the SSSC Register and want to hear your views on the proposal. 

The Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) Supported Year is mandatory from today, 1 October 2024. It’s part of the framework that will set out a clear pathway for social workers and employers from qualification to advanced practice.

We get very few fitness to practise referrals for Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW), however the introduction of the NQSW Supported Year from this October may influence the kinds of referrals we receive.

Since June new staff need to apply for SSSC registration within three months of starting their role. This is one of the changes to registration that came into effect on 3 June 2024. 

We’ve just sent out our annual registrant survey to get our registrants’ views on the value of being SSSC registered and on the services we provide.
