We've published new resources for you to use to compare social service workforce data between local authority areas for benchmarking and understanding the differences across Scotland.

The Scottish Government and COSLA have published the Health and social care: integrated workforce plan, which is the UK’s first to help create sustainable health and social care services. 

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) published the 2018 Workforce Data Report today.

The report shows that the size of the social service workforce has increased to 204,610, a rise of 1.2% since 2017, the highest level recorded since these reports began in 2008.

There are over 160,000 people on the SSSC Register who provide life changing care in adult, children’s, young people’s and social work services across Scotland.
