The QI Zone is available to anyone working in social services in Scotland and provides information and resources to support workers with experience at all levels of QI to develop their knowledge.
Laura Lamb, SSSC Director of Workforce, Education and Standards said:
‘Quality improvement is an important part of what Scotland’s social service workers do as they aspire to build the right services for the individuals they support.
‘We welcome NHS Education for Scotland’s new approach to Quality Improvement learning. The QI Zone will offer social service workers the opportunity to learn about tools and techniques that can support them to continually improve services’
Learning Approach
The learning includes specific QI learner pathways designed to offer flexible learning, with the first two pathways covering the following.
- Kickstart QI. This pathway introduces what quality improvement is. It is a single module that should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
- QI Essentials. This pathway is for people involved in change and improvement activity. QI Essentials will provide knowledge of core quality improvement methods and tools. This pathway is a set of four modules, which will take 30 minutes each to complete.
Two more learner pathways, Practical QI and Managing QI will launch in August 2025. We’ll share more information when they are available.
