What the dashboard covers
Register numbers
Updated weekly, you will find up to date figures of:
- the overall number of people on the SSSC Register and the fluctuations since January 2022
- the number and percentage of registrants qualified for their role
- the number of individuals on each Register part, for example social work, social work students, social care and children and young people workforce
- the number and percentage of workers qualified on each Register part.
Removals
Registrants can be removed from our Register for several reasons including:
- they no longer work in a registerable role
- they have not met a qualification condition
- removal by a Fitness to Practise Panel
- they haven’t submitted the required information.
The removal dashboard shows the reasons for removal for the whole Register and for the different Register parts from January 2022. We update this dashboard monthly.
Leavers
Since August 2024, we’ve asked people their reason for leaving our Register. This can help us and employers identify trends in recruitment and retention within the sector.
You can view the number and percentage of leavers from the whole Register and for different Register parts. We send the survey to registrants every month and update the dashboard weekly.
The data includes the length of time they were on the Register, which sector they are moving to and their reason for leaving the social services and the Register.
Some of the top reasons for leaving are:
- health reasons
- poor terms and conditions (including pay)
- career opportunities
- exhaustion, burnout, stress
- unsupportive workforce culture.
