Your learning

Get credit for your prior learning

Learning can come from life experiences, school, paid or unpaid work, short courses or learning at college or university. Our new web page and guidance gives you information on how your prior learning could benefit you.

We have created a new web page and updated our recognition of prior learning (RPL) guidance to help you understand when RPL might be useful when working towards the qualification you need for SSSC registration.

RPL means you can get recognition for the knowledge and skills you have already gained, to support your personal and career development.

Our new page and guide will help you understand:

  • what prior learning is
  • what prior learning means for you
  • what counts as prior learning
  • the ways you can and can’t use it.

It also tells you how you can record your prior learning.

Read the guide on our recognition of prior learning page.
