ASN Toolkit relaunches to support Scotland’s childcare workforce

We’ve updated the Additional Support Needs (ASN) Toolkit to help childcare professionals quickly find high quality learning resources that support inclusive, child‑centred practice.

The toolkit supports everyone who works with children and young people. It brings together clear guidance, learning materials and practical strategies in one place, helping practitioners respond with confidence to the needs of children and families.

Minister’s welcome

The Minister for Children, Young People and The Promise, Natalie Don‑Innes MSP, thanked the workforce for their ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.

In her message to practitioners, the Minister recognised the dedication, compassion and professionalism shown every day. She also highlighted the importance of continued learning to help every child thrive.

You can watch the Minister’s full message here.

The toolkit now links directly to the SSSC CPL Directory and CYP portal. This makes it easier for practitioners to find a wide range of high‑quality, flexible learning opportunities in one place.
