Apply for a free qualification to build your digital skills

Applications are now open for 150 fully funded places on the Professional Development Award (PDA) in Technology Enabled Care (TEC) at SCQF Level 7, starting in September 2026.

Delivered online in partnership with UHI Perth College, this flexible, self-directed qualification is funded by the Scottish Government and COSLA and led by the Digitally Enabled Workforce Team at NHS Education for Scotland.

The PDA in TEC is ideal for people working in frontline roles across social care, social work, health and housing, including those working in care at home, care homes, or other community settings in the public, independent and third sector.

The qualification will help workers to:

  • build confidence in using digital health and social care tools and services
  • support people to live more independently
  • enhance service delivery and encourage self-management
  • evidence their professional development for current or future roles.
