Social care guidance on safe staffing

We’ve developed social care specific guidance on the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019 to help you understand the roles and responsibilities for safe staffing.

Working with the Care Inspectorate, NHS Education for Scotland, Health Improvement Scotland and social care employers we’ve adapted the existing online resource to add specific social care guidance. You’ll find it at sections 16-24 or by using the menu to choose ‘Social care’.

Working with you

We’ll continue to work with partners to review the TURAS Learning Resources on Health and Care Staffing in Scotland to provide social care related learning.

If you’d be interested in getting involved in this work we’d like to hear from you. Please get in touch by emailing workforceplanning@sssc.uk.com

Other guidance

You should use these resources in conjunction with the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019: statutory guidance and Care Inspectorate Safe staffing programme where you can find a series of information guides under Adult Services, Early Learning and Childcare Services, and Children and Young People Services
