How to access the priority service
You can apply through the PVG Online service as normal. Please also send a summary of PVG applications started by your organisation’s countersignatories to dsoperations@disclosurescotland.gov.scot
Your summary should include the applicant's name, date of birth and the application reference (eg T12345678). You should mark these emails ‘Urgent – Social Care Staffing Recruitment’.
This priority service, which is open now, has been established due to the current urgency around social care recruitment and must only be used for this purpose.
Disclosure Scotland will continue to prioritise COVID-19 response workers.
What Disclosure Scotland need from you
- Volumes of applications you anticipate submitting (including the appropriate disclosure type).
- When you will begin submitting these checks and the pattern of submission that you are likely to follow.
- Whether you plan to involve any third party organisations to recruit individuals as part of this urgent exercise in your area.

What can help speed up the PVG process?
If, as a countersignatory with Disclosure Scotland, you have started a PVG Online application, please make sure the applicant has completed their section before contacting us for an update.
As part of the PVG application process, Disclosure Scotland ask applicants to provide their PVG membership ID which is on their PVG certificate. If they can't find their membership ID, Disclosure Scotland can still proceed with the PVG application without this.
