The grants were awarded by a panel with representatives from the SSSC, the Office of the Chief Social Work Adviser (OCSWA) at Scottish Government, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) and the Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CCPS).
Additional implementation areas
The successful applications were from:
- Dumfries and Galloway Council
- East Ayrshire Council
- East Lothian Council
- East Renfrewshire Council
- Falkirk Council
- Glasgow Health and Social Care Partnership
- North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership
- Scottish Borders Council
- South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership
- Stirling Council.
We will work alongside the existing and new early implementation areas, to embed the NQSW Supported Year and share learning and resources across the sector as the work develops.
We will also engage with other organisations who applied but didn’t receive grant funding to find other ways to provide support and opportunities so they can plan for implementation.
The grants are part of the current phase of the NQSW national project in Scotland to support expanded implementation of NQSW Supported Year.
Next steps
During the expanded implementation phase, we will:
- continue to collaborate and share learning from the early implementation of the NQSW Supported Year project
- share learning and resources generated through the early implementation phase
- continue to develop the NQSW website
- collaborate with universities and employers to embed a common approach to transitions.
NQSW website
Our NQSW website is a dedicated resource that:
- provides information for all NQSWs, their employers, managers and supervisors
- supports consistency for the NQSW Supported Year
- provides information about the current requirements for NQSWs
- shows the work we are doing for the future.
We are currently updating the website information and will publish relevant guidance, templates and resources over the next few months.
