New hearings process now in place

Our fitness to practise hearings process changed to opt in hearings from 1 July 2021. This means we will only hold a hearing if a worker disagrees with the outcome of our investigation and asks for one.

The change means we can focus our resources on improving the fitness to practise process and the support available for people involved in fitness to practise cases.

Factsheets to help you

We have a range of fitness to practise factsheets to help workers involved in cases to understand the process and what it means for them. We’ve updated these to reflect the change to opt in hearings. We’ll send you the right factsheet at different stages of your fitness to practise case.

See the fitness to practise factsheets on our website.

If you have any questions about your fitness to practise case, please contact your caseholder. Their name and contact details will be on the letters or emails we’ve sent you.
