Careers in care

Help us improve recruitment to careers in social services

Tell us about the #lifechangingwork you do!

We want to promote social services as a career of choice. As part of the National Workforce Plan we’re working with partners to improve the perception of social service careers and raise awareness of the entry and progression routes available.

We’ve launched our new careers website. It showcases career stories from a range of social service professionals to help people understand how to get ready for a career and show the different pathways people take to gain qualifications.

Here’s one of the career stories from Royston Court Care Home.

We need your help – share your story

We use the #lifechangingwork hashtag on our website and social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram). When visitors click the hashtag they see a range of real stories from social service workers and employers.

We need you to share your stories about care and support in Scotland on your social media channels using #lifechangingwork

This is your chance to show new audiences what it’s really like to work in your organisation. Alongside stories you can share job vacancies, training opportunities and more.

How to take part

  1. Create a post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram about something positive happening in your place of work.
  2. Include a photo and a link to an opportunity you want to promote. Make sure you have permission from anyone appearing in the post.
  3. Include the hashtag #lifechangingwork in your post and mention us too.
