Consultations and surveys

Are you a 2016 social work graduate? We want to hear from you

Understanding the experiences of newly qualified and early career social workers

Listening to the voices of social workers has rarely been so important. Our national survey of early career social workers is now in its fourth year and we are keen to hear about your experiences in this particular moment.

Thank you to those who have completed the survey already this year, but we would love to hear from any 2016 graduates who are yet to complete it. The information you provide is having an impact on how we understand and support the needs of early career social workers and how we identify areas for change and improvement. Please help us by adding your voice and experience.

Take the survey here.

The survey closes on Monday 15 June at 5pm.

Background

The SSSC commissioned a five-year longitudinal study exploring the experiences of NQSWs as they progress in their careers.

The study aims to provide a broad view of NQSW professional development across Scotland. Researchers from Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Dundee are leading the study. It seeks to capture professional experiences, report on observed practice and trace the professional journey of NQSWs over their first five years to develop a national picture.

You can find more information about our work to support NQSWs and links to previous year’s findings on our website: https://www.sssc.uk.com/supporting-the-workforce/newly-qualified-social-workers/
